Our story starts in 1914 when the Rabinowitz family opened a corner grocery store in Somerville, MA. Four years later, they introduced the modern self-service supermarket, and by 1947, our company had grown into a flourishing chain of 86 supermarkets.
Since then, we’ve continued to grow and innovate, pioneering the superstore concept and opening over 375 stores throughout New England, New York and New Jersey.
We’re here in your neighborhood, and draw upon your rich culture to make our stores better. We’ve also made it a point to ensure that our suppliers are representative of the communities we serve.
